Best Buy Brings out the Best

My hosting provider (TextDrive) is having licensing problems with Urchin, so I installed Webalizer to analyze my access logs.

In the process I discovered that my little Best Buy article has attracted a lot of comments. Most of them are insane ramblings from people who work at Best Buy and don’t have access to spell checkers.

Go check it out, it’s very entertaining.

And in response to one of the comments, I can name several retailers that always make me happy:

The Apple Store – They have somehow attracted smart employees that enjoy working there and, unlike Best Buy at 11am on a Tuesday, the store isn’t run by kids. Of course, they still try to sell me AppleCare, but they never act like jerks when I say no.

Jordan Motors – They go out of their way to help you before and after the sale. Locally, there is no comparison.

H.B. Leiserowitz – A small, family owned camera store. The prices are about the same as Best Buy, but it’s run by people who know photography. You won’t catch people from the paper buying gear at Best Buy, but you’ll run into them every day at H.B.’s.

Scheel’s – For a big box sporting good store, they are very impressive. They hire passionate experts for the specialized departments, and they really know their stuff. Plus, they sell fudge.
