Mint: It's okay, I guess

I really like what I’ve seen of Mint. It’s a new, non-free web stats analyizer with a slick UI and some handy new features. Nuby on Rails likes it too, so I decided to give it a go.

Mint is PHP-based, which is fine as long as I don’t have to touch the code. It’s incredibly easy to install and just looks great.

I am a little disappointed though… It doesn’t analyize log files. It instead uses a Javascript bug at the top of each of your pages to collect its own stats. That’s great, but what if I want to know how many times someone has downloaded my BenNews demo movie? I guess I’ll still be using Webalizer for some of my data.

For most sites though, Mint will work great. My favorite feature is the RSS feed of your new referrers.
